The person we are looking for

At Pappare’ the chef is a key position, with great responsibility in the set-up of the entire kitchen staff.

He or she loves quality food and food preparation, has a good knowledge of the product and of new trends in the food industry, had a strong aesthetic understanding and most of all cares about the customer’s satisfaction.

Experience and skills

Besides multi-year work experience in the field, we require these skills:

  • A formal education in Hospitality, or working experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of sanitary regulations for food preparation, preservation and storage Conoscenza delle norme igienico sanitarie di preparazione; HACCP certificate.
  • Management of the menus and purchases; preparation of the kitchen and pastry product line.

Job requirements and tasks

In carrying out their tasks, the assistant chef has to:

  • Organize the team work, manage the purchase orders for ingredients and other goods, implement the menu making the suitable changes, when needed, in order to better meet the customers’ needs and requests, based on a good understanding of the customer base, the local market and sales data.
  • Provide customers with an excellent service and constant high quality standards.
  • Work to guarantee the fastest and careful service at any time of the day.
  • Guarantee a correct set-up and organization of the workstation, keeping with the high standards of cleanliness and order.
  • Make sure that maintenance of the machinery and tools is kept regularly and correctly.
  • Manage the stock and equipment in order to assure an efficient service at any time.
  • Work as a team with the waiting staff.
  • Represent Pappare’ at their best, in every moment of the day.
  • Be fully available for training the kitchen and waiting staff about the food product line.

Wage and contractual framework will be proportionate to experience and qualifications.
